“As artists in film and theatre, I believe we have a responsibility to illuminate the human experience in order to increase our capacity for compassion, love, and empathy."
Kristin Conrad is a professional actor and singer who is committed to collaborative artistic processes generating a hopeful version of humanity.
She has performed regionally and on national tours, and has worked as an educator on touring Theatre for Young Audiences productions, summer camps, intensives and master classes, and as an instructor of record at Ohio University and Seton Hill University.
Originally from Cincinnati, Kristin came to the arts through music–participating in church choirs and violin lessons. Her passion for performance was ignited at Interlochen Arts Camp where she was inspired by musical theatre's form which allowed her to combine both her love of music with her desire to explore the human condition through storytelling. This passion would continue to be a guiding light throughout her life and career.
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami, Kristin relocated to New York City which served as her home base for several years. This lead to opportunities for continued training, workshops, readings, and work in the regional and touring markets. Grateful to be working as an actor/singer over the next few years, this same work also generated a desire for a deeper artistic expression initiated from an authentic sense of self. Kristin eagerly returned to formal training in the fall of 2015, entering Ohio University's Professional Actor Training Program, where she completed her MFA in Acting in May of 2018.
She is currently based in Pittsburgh, PA, where she lives with her husband, a technical director with whom she coordinates on many creative projects. While they both enjoy exploring the outdoors together through travel, camping, and hiking, Kristin is always excited to embark on her next great artistic adventure!
Besides audition and collaborative opportunities, Kristin is also available to lead arts outreach programs, youth classes, and master classes for young professionals. Educational references and a Teaching Artist resume are available upon request.
